The 40D pairs the longer body with a 40W power rating. Its 1229 mm length is approximately 48.4 inches, placing it in the four-foot size category commonly used when comparing industrial linear fixtures.
Consider this format for work platforms, service passages and equipment rows where the layout calls for a long luminaire. Select it by the available mounting space and required illumination, rather than assuming that a longer enclosure must use more power.
The 120° beam delivers a broad distribution around the fixture. A PC cover diffuses the light, reduces direct views of the LEDs and provides light transmission above 90%.
The optical specification combines this efficacy range with CRI ≥70. For project calculations, use the measured output for the chosen configuration rather than assigning a lumen value from wattage alone.
Select the CCT with the order. Matching the surrounding luminaires is useful when extending a lighting row or replacing individual fixtures in an existing installation.
Choose AC100–277V, 50–60Hz for the AC version or DC12–24V for the low-voltage DC version. Each is a separate driver configuration selected to suit the supply.
The AC specification includes power factor above 0.95 and THD below 10%. The high-efficiency driver has a 4 kV / 6 kV surge-protection design. Specify supply type and voltage alongside the model number to avoid ordering the wrong input configuration.
The aluminum alloy housing provides a rigid body and a path for heat transfer. Its shock- and vibration-resistant construction is paired with a corrosion-resistant PC cover and an IP66 enclosure.
The operating ambient range is -40°C to +55°C. Rated life is 50,000 hours at L70, with a five-year standard warranty. Installation should leave access to the cover, housing and entry points for routine inspection and cleaning.
The American-standard configuration uses 3/4 NPT entry openings at both ends. Cable glands are separate items, allowing the connection package to be selected for the actual cable or conduit arrangement.
State which entries will be used and allow working space around the ends. If the design calls for linking multiple luminaires, confirm the terminal and circuit arrangement before ordering.
Select the mounting arrangement according to the supporting structure, required light direction and maintenance access.
Mount the fixture directly to the ceiling or an overhead support for a clean, low-profile installation.
The wall-mounting bracket offers an adjustable angle from 0° to ±60°, allowing the light direction to be set for the target area.
A pole-mounting arrangement is available when the luminaire needs to be positioned away from a wall or ceiling surface.
Use pendant mounting when the fixture needs to be suspended from a fixed overhead structure.
Two suspension points support chain mounting for installations that require additional hanging flexibility.
An emergency configuration is available for projects that require lighting after loss of the normal supply. Quoted options are 8W for 1.5 hours or 12W for 3 hours; the final battery package and operating conditions are confirmed with the order.
Choose emergency output and runtime separately from the normal 40W rating. The emergency layout should be assessed using the selected battery-mode performance.
The long linear format can be considered for access platforms, service corridors and equipment areas in oil and gas, petrochemical, wastewater-treatment, food and beverage, tunnel and marine projects. Match the ordered configuration to the location’s requirements.
For a new lighting row, check shadows from beams and pipework as well as the clear mounting length. For a replacement, record the old fixture’s fixing centers and connection arrangement before selecting the mounting kit.

The 40D provides a 40W option in the longer D-body, while the 30B and 50B use a 629 mm body. Choose the format that fits the planned fixture layout and supporting structure. The longer enclosure is a physical difference; it does not automatically mean higher lumen output or a wider permitted spacing than a shorter model.
The long linear format makes the 40D a candidate for a replacement project, but it is not a guaranteed drop-in fit. Compare mounting centers, overall clearance, supply voltage and entry positions. Then check the required light level with photometric data. Existing brackets and connection components should not be assumed compatible simply because both fixtures are described as four-foot.
Start with the required illumination and the actual mounting height, then account for obstacles and the width of the route. The 120° beam is broad, but the beam angle and 1229 mm body length do not specify a spacing distance. Use photometric data for the selected configuration to assess overlap, shadows and uniformity before finalizing the quantity.
The fixture has a net weight of 7.7 kg and measures 1229 × 125 × 168.7 mm. Select the support and fasteners for the complete assembly, including the mounting kit, and check the kit’s fixing positions. Leave access at both ends for connection work. Body dimensions alone do not define the final installation envelope for every mounting method.
The wall-mounting arrangement provides adjustment from 0° to ±60°. This is a feature of the selected mounting arrangement, not a claim that every supplied bracket has the same adjustment. Include the required direction and mounting surface in the inquiry so the appropriate hardware is specified. Ceiling, pole, pendant and pendant-chain arrangements are also available.
Emergency operation uses a specified battery package and a lower output than normal 40W operation. Quoted choices include 8W for 1.5 hours or 12W for 3 hours. Select the output and duration to suit the emergency-lighting requirement, and confirm the final battery configuration. Do not use normal-operation photometric performance as a substitute for emergency-mode performance.
The 40D has an IP66 enclosure and an operating ambient range of -40°C to +55°C. Entry components, unused openings and assembly must also suit the installation. Include unusual cleaning chemicals or exposure conditions in the inquiry. The stated enclosure rating is not a salt-spray, immersion or chemical-compatibility test result, and does not replace those checks where required.
Send the quantity, supply voltage, CCT and mounting method through the product inquiry form. Include available mounting space, cable details and any emergency-lighting requirement. Quote MAG-EX-LN-02P-40D, American standard UL844, so the correct version is selected.
