The 50D is the long-body alternative to the 50B. Both have a 50W rating, but the 50D uses a 1229 mm enclosure rather than the 629 mm B-body. This gives project buyers a long-format option when the lighting schedule and support layout call for it.
Within the D-body range, the 50D also provides a power choice above the 40D while retaining the same body-length category. Select the model on the required illumination and available space, not on fixture length alone.
The 120° beam spreads light across the area around the luminaire. Its long PC diffuser covers the light source and softens direct views of the LEDs. Light transmission through the cover is above 90%.
The efficacy range is paired with CRI ≥70. Use measured output for the selected configuration when comparing fixture quantities or preparing a lighting calculation.
Order the color temperature required by the lighting schedule. For partial replacements, match the existing CCT where a consistent appearance across the area is important.
AC100–277V, 50–60Hz and DC12–24V are available as separate input configurations. Specify the supply type and voltage rather than ordering by wattage alone.
The AC configuration has power factor above 0.95 and total harmonic distortion below 10%. A high-efficiency LED driver and 4 kV / 6 kV surge-protection design form part of the electrical specification.
The aluminum alloy body supports heat transfer and provides a rigid enclosure. Shock- and vibration-resistant construction, a corrosion-resistant PC cover and IP66 protection support use in industrial environments.
Rated operating temperature is -40°C to +55°C. The light has a 50,000-hour L70 rating. Keep the housing and diffuser accessible for cleaning and inspection, particularly where dust can accumulate.
The American-standard version has 3/4 NPT openings at both ends. Cable glands are ordered separately; provide the cable details or conduit arrangement so the entry components can be selected for the installation.
Allow enough clearance at the ends for connection work. If the layout requires a continuous row of connected luminaires, confirm the terminal arrangement and circuit capacity as part of the specification.
Select the mounting arrangement according to the supporting structure, required light direction and maintenance access.
Mount the fixture directly to the ceiling or an overhead support for a clean, low-profile installation.
The wall-mounting bracket offers an adjustable angle from 0° to ±60°, allowing the light direction to be set for the target area.
A pole-mounting arrangement is available when the luminaire needs to be positioned away from a wall or ceiling surface.
Use pendant mounting when the fixture needs to be suspended from a fixed overhead structure.
Two suspension points support chain mounting for installations that require additional hanging flexibility.
For projects requiring battery-backed operation, specify the emergency output and duration with the order. Quoted options include 8W for 1.5 hours and 12W for 3 hours, subject to final battery-package confirmation.
Emergency output is separate from the normal 50W rating. Confirm the operating conditions and use the selected emergency-mode performance to assess the required coverage.
The long linear format can be considered for equipment access areas, maintenance passages and work platforms in oil and gas, petrochemical, wastewater, food and beverage, tunnel and marine projects. The ordered configuration must match the location’s requirements.
Where fixtures are installed in a row, account for beams, pipes and equipment that interrupt the light path. For retrofit work, record fixing positions and connection access before choosing a mounting kit or reusing the existing layout.

Both models are rated at 50W, but their body formats are different: the 50D is 1229 mm long and the 50B is 629 mm long. Choose between them by the mounting space and fixture layout, then check the photometric performance. Equal wattage does not establish identical light distribution, mounting centers or interchangeable hardware.
The 50D and 40D use the 1229 mm D-body format with different rated powers: 50W and 40W. The 50D offers another electrical load option without moving to a different body-length category. Do not infer a fixed percentage increase in light level from the wattage difference; compare model-specific lighting data for the intended mounting position.
Start with the space between supports, clearance around the equipment and the required cable route. The 50D needs room for its 1229 mm body plus mounting and connection access. The 50B offers the same rated wattage in a shorter body. Neither body length on its own determines the fixture count needed to achieve the project’s lighting level.
Keep the old spacing only if the proposed lighting design supports it. Record the mounting height, work-plane requirements and obstacles before comparing the replacement. The 120° beam is broad, but it does not specify a universal spacing. Check the selected 50D photometric data for maintained illumination, dark areas and glare at normal viewing positions.
State whether the supply is AC or DC and give the actual voltage. The available options are AC100–277V, 50–60Hz, or a separate DC12–24V configuration. Include any emergency requirement at the same time. The standard AC driver should not be assumed suitable for a low-voltage DC circuit, and the battery option is not included automatically.
No single mounting arrangement covers every support condition. Ceiling, wall, pole, pendant and pendant-chain options are available; select the hardware for the structure and desired aiming direction. The wall arrangement permits adjustment from 0° to ±60°. Allow for the 7.7 kg fixture, accessory weight and access to both ends when checking the support and clearances.
Normal operation is rated at 50W. Emergency packages have separate output and runtime selections, with quoted options of 8W for 1.5 hours or 12W for 3 hours. Confirm the final battery package and operating conditions when ordering. Design any emergency coverage using battery-mode performance rather than assuming the normal lighting level will be maintained.
Specify MAG-EX-LN-02P-50D, American standard UL844, with the required quantity, supply voltage, CCT and mounting method. Add the cable details and emergency requirements through the product inquiry form so the complete configuration can be quoted.
